Former Village Development Committee, one of 8 merged to form Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City in 2017. Only part of the former VDC was included when the sub-metropolitan city was formed in 2017; the rest of Haraiya, also partly included here, is covered under Karaiyamai Rural Municipality.
