Former Village Development Committee, one of 6 merged to form Rajbiraj Municipality in 1959. Most of the former VDC (wards 3 through 7) forms part of Rajbiraj; a smaller portion (wards 1, 2, 8 and 9) went instead to Bishnupur Rural Municipality.
