Former Village Development Committee, one of 5 merged to form Balan-Bihul Rural Municipality in 2017. Most of the former VDC (wards 1 through 4, 7, 8 and 9) forms part of this rural municipality; a smaller portion (wards 5 and 6) went instead to Surunga Municipality.
